Learning To Write (or Steal) Sales Copy This Is How Fortunes Are Made
Anyone who is making a fortune online has learned how to create Sales Copy. In other words, they have learned how to pitch a product. Initially, you will want to copy what has worked in the past and is currently working for others. Then as you become more experienced you can begin developing your own unique style. In the beginning however, I strongly encourage you to learn from the pros. Each of the following sites are currently making a fortune for their owners, so their sales copy is definitely working!
Here are some pages that contain the best performing Sales Copy at the moment:
Each link will open in a new window.
Project X - Uses an Aweber drop box to capture leads and build an email list.
Forex Enterprises - Also, uses Aweber drop box to build an email database.
Paid Surveys - Strong money pitch, no email capture system.
SaleHoo - Strong use of Audio Testimonials and Product Examples.
If none of these examples relates to what you want to sell, I encourage you to go out to Google and see if others are currently selling the product or service that you want to offer. Look through everyone's offerings to see if there is a particular piece of sales copy that really grabs your attention. If so, then copy and paste it into your html editor. You will want to rework the whole thing using your own words or "corporate approved" phrases.
After you have found a piece of sales copy that you would like to start from, then go to Gary Bencivenga's web site. Gary is considered by many to be one of the top Copy writers in the world. You will find many useful tips and ideas in his archives. Best of all, if you subscribe to his newsletter you will receive occasional updates with no solicitations of any kind!
Would You Rather Sell Other People's Programs? Then Learn To Pre-Sell!
In the beginning, it is easier to sell someone elses product instead of trying to create your own. This is where you write your opinion of the product or service that someone is looking to purchase. In order for this to be effective, you also need to offer a reason why the customer should purchase from you instead of any other affiliate or marketer.
Important Point! You MUST use the product and dig deep into it before you begin trying to sell it. If you truly believe in a product or service, that will come across to your prospects. Also, don't be afraid to start off with a negative ( all products & services have at least one ), that way your positive statements will be viewed as more truthful.
Again, you need to differentiate yourself!
You can do this by offering a special bonus that only people who buy from you will receive. Here is an example of how people are pre-selling a course called Affiliate Project X ( a very popular internet marketing course ).
Notice the first thing at the top of the page is a special bonus that you will receive only if you order the product from this particular affiliate ( so they say ). In order for this strategy to work well, you need to be truthful and give the customer something of real value when they purchase from you. Otherwise you will make an enemy out of your new customers!
A Project X Pre-Sell Page
The easiest type of bonus to create is a video tutorial of how you are using the course or how you are building your business. If you are willing to teach them how to succeed with it, then they will likely purchase the product from you!
To further differentiate yourself, offer a video review of the product or service. Most people are not using video at this time, so it's probably the easiest way to differentiate yourself. In fact, if you run across a site that is using a video or audio drop down box, it's most likely me or one of my customers! Click To Play & the Video Drop Box are both found in the FileStreams Video Toolkit. The video toolkit also includes information on how to create a video review using screen capture applications.
Example Of A Video Testimonial Pre-Sell Page:
Here is a video testimonial pre-sell page that I put together for the Rich Jerk marketing program. Testimonials such as this are a good way to "warm up" the prospect before sending them to the sales page. You will also notice that I include a promotion for the video streaming tool kit below the video, this provides excellent cross-promotion since this promotion is targeted at online marketers.
Video Testimonial Pre-Sell Page
In my online ads, I tell them to "watch this video" so that's why I have it start playing right when they enter the page. If people were not aware that it was a video, then I would've used the "Click To Play" feature.
